Pema Mission
Successful development requires not only the formulation of sound policies and programmes, but also their effective implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
With this in mind, PEMA was established in January 2003 as an operating unit of the Ministry of International Co-operation, reporting directly to H.E. Minister Fayza Aboulnaga.
The Centre focuses on evaluating projects funded by Egypt’s development partners. It also prepares analytical studies and policy briefs in the area of international co-operation and development at large, among other tasks aiming at improving the coordination and effectiveness of international assistance received.
Meanwhile, PEMA continues its efforts to strengthen its capacity to undertake more project evaluation and research assignments. It also aims at intensifying co-operation with more development partners and Egyptian counterparts responsible for implementing various projects, as well as with supervisory agencies and policy makers.
